Next to lighting the lamp, hockey
fights, bench clearing brawls, and toe to toe slugfests are what get the crowd
on their feet during a hockey game! On March 5, 2004, one of the most
explosive brawls in NHL history broke out between the Philadelphia
Flyers and the Ottawa Senators, setting a record for the most penalty
minutes in a single game by both teams at 419 minutes! Every
man woman and child was hopping up and down screaming their heads off!
Don't believe me? See for yourself!

Bob Probert vs. Craig Coxe - Round 1
There have been numerous heavyweight
battles over the years in the NHL, but two of the biggest toe to
toe slugfests of all time were between Bob Probert and Craig
Coxe. Many argue that both battles were pretty even up until the end when Bob got the
upper hand on Craig...you be the judge. When Bob winds up
with that right...look out!!! How the two of them could even stand
up on their skates when the battle finally came to an end is beyond me,
and unfortunately today's hockey fight fans aren't ever
going to witness fights like Bob and Craig had in the featured
video footage to the right.
Bob Probert vs. Craig Coxe - Round 2
When Bob and Craig met up again, the
entire crowd was immediately on their feet ready to watch
another round of "Rock em Sock em Robots!" The stamina was
unbelievable, and to this day, so many are amazed how Craig
didn't go down after receiving those vicious uppercuts from Bob.
His head snaps back so hard, it's a wonder that it didn't fly
off of his shoulders and go shooting into the stands!
Certainly two of the best hockey fights the NHL has ever seen
and both fighters certainly gave it everything that they had.
